Black Dragon Hybrid
The Black Dragon Hybrid is the do-everything heavy-oil ball of the Superior line: cleaner through the front than the solid, stronger through the midlane than the pearl, and continuous through the pins. It stays usable deeper into the block than a straight solid, so one ball covers more of the night.
A first hybrid version of the Scorch AP26 coverstock wraps the proven Dragon Asymmetric Core at a 1500 Abralon finish, for a strong, angular read on medium to heavy fresh oil. Finished in black and silver with the dragon marked in neon orange.
Same dragon. Sharper teeth.
The Dragon Asymmetric Core is proven territory: it powered the original Black Dragon and the Black Dragon Pearl to the top of the Superior Performance Line, and it comes back here unchanged because it never needed changing. A 2.49 RG and .050 differential with a .017 mass bias give it a heavy, early-revving motion that stays on line through the pins.
This is the shape bowlers reach for when they want asymmetric drive without flagship pricing: strong midlane, dependable recovery, and continuation that shrugs off carry-down.
Scorch is the Dragon line’s cover, and this is its first hybrid and its first AP26 formulation. Adhesion Promotion technology works at the molecular level to enlarge the cover’s contact footprint: more traction in oil, better oil absorption as the pattern breaks down, and a cover built to resist micro-cracking.
The hybrid blend pairs solid traction on the fresh with pearl-like energy retention through the mids. At a 1500 Abralon finish it reads the midlane with authority while staying cleaner through the front than the original Black Dragon solid. USBC approved, and tuned for consistent, predictable motion rather than simply more hook.
